Jasmine You's Death

If you're a J-rock and/or Visual Kei fan, you're probably already heard the news - Jasmine You died.

I'm depressed. I've been depressed since I heard the news. I thought of making a tribute, whatever tribute I could make for Jasmine You. I wasn't able to make one for hide and Kami when they died, but I thought I would make one this time.

On another news, there would be a Memorial and Virgil for Jasmine You in Los Angeles, USA. If you live in L.A., please find some time to go. There are a lot of fans who would want to go and give a peace of their love for Jasmine You one last time, so if you are able to go, please do.

Info below:
Memorial and Vigil for Jasmine You in Los Angeles

In memory of Jasmine You, we will be holding a special memorial vigil on August 22nd, 7-9pm, at the north east corner of Weller court (Los Angeles and 1st street).

We will be setting up a portrait of Jasmine You surrounded by roses and feathers, with candles to light in his memory.

If fans have any letters, notes, fan art and other gifts, either for the band in condolences, or things in memory of Jasmine, we will be collecting that to send to Japan. We will be collecting mementos to make a part of a banner which everyone will also be able to sign.

At this event we will be taking pictures and recording video to also send to Japan. We ask that you dress elegantly in a style that respects Jasmine You. And to please come up with words of encouragement to send to the band,  and to Jasmine's family, so that we can collect video comments.

Under the Blue Moon Festival Wakes from the Dead

Under the Blue Moon Festival Wakes from the Dead

Under the Blue Moon Festival presented by Drum Media + Furr Hair — the festival of all things darkly beautiful, takes on Halloween. The festival is now in its 6th year is shaping up to be the spookiest yet; with bands, burlesque, gothic lectures, coffin raffles, dark alternative fashion, zombies, discount shopping, vampires, bats, hearses, curses and S&M nurses, Under The Blue Moon Festival is the place to experience an authentic and truly spooky Halloween.

The Festival wakes from the dead on Tuesday 27th October at the Polymorph Gallery where the winner of the Under The Blue Moon Art Prize will be announced. Applications are now open for artists to enter - so if your artwork has been rejected for being a little too macabre then this is the art prize for you. Also on Tuesday 27th October fetch your sketch pads and head down to The ArtHouse Hotel for an evening with Dr. Sketchy’s for an evening of life drawing with a difference, tickets are $18 and can be purchased from the festival website.

On Friday 30th October take a step back in time with the opening of Theatre of Blood at the Newtown Theatre. A new late-night horror program modelled on the cult ultra-violent horror theatre, the Grand Guignol, which ran in Paris through the first half of the twentieth century, influencing everything from the films of Boris Karloff to Hammer Horror to Sweeney Todd.

On Festival Market Day 31st October the festival is unleased on the streets of Enmore and Newtown where the festival will again hold Australia’s largest alternative fashion weekend. Including discount shopping in Australia’s best eclectic & darkly beautiful shops & stalls in the Newtown Main Square and Enmore Road. This year for Halloween there will be some special trick or treat show bags Win your very own coffin full of prizes worth over $1000 in the UTBM coffin raffle with part of the proceeds from the raffle going to the Cat Protection Society. The festival will also host Australia's first Gothic All Hallows Eve Mass with candle lit procession at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, along with Talks of the weirdly freakish at the funeral parlour and a Dark Alternative Photographic Exhibition and the now infamous antique horse drawn hearse will lead a convoy of vintage hearses along King Street, Newtown.

The festival climaxes at the All Hallows Eve Ball (Licensed All Ages) on 31st October at The Factory Theatre. The main stage line-up includes GPKISM (Japan), Juke Baritone + The Swamp Dogs, The Horrorwood Mannequins, Chaingang and The Mansons with special guest Simon Day. In our dungeon of debauchery it’s all a little bit kooky and just a little bit kinky hosted by Uber. Be delighted by the sultry Lola The Vamp, the ever so naughty Fancy Piece and Celia Curtis and her bed of nails. DJ's will be smashing up the dungeon walls all night so be prepared to dance with DJ Requiem, Ash, DJ MetaVirus, Unit 13 and DJ Dasein. The Uber dungeon is an 18+ area only so be sure to bring your photo ID. Doors open 7:30pm - Tickets are on sale now via the festival website $35+ bf. For more information and tickets go to www.underthebluemoon.org.au.

Updates About Yoshiki's Health

Drummer, pianist and X JAPAN band leader, Yoshiki, will undergo neck surgery on Monday, July 27, 2009 at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Beverly Hills, CA. Dr. Neel Anand, Director of the Cedars-Sinai Spine Center, will perform a cervical foraminotomy.

Due to his intense drumming style, Yoshiki developed a worsening of his neck pain and left hand numbness over the past month, affecting his music performance. His condition has been evaluated by doctors in the U.S. and Japan. Yoshiki underwent a spinal x-ray series, an MRI of the spine, and an EMG. After seeking second and third opinions on the diagnosis and treatment, he concluded that the foraminotomy was necessary for the cervical foraminal stenosis.

Yoshiki's primary physician at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Tommy H. Tomizawa (UCLA Assistant Professor), states that he will need a few weeks to recover from the surgery and a month or more of rehabilitation. If his condition does not improve over the next several months, laminectomy, discectomy and spinal fusion would be considered. Artificial disc placement would be another treatment of choice.

Updates on KH

This is another update regading KH being down recently.

It's been past 3 days and the domain transfer isn't really working. So I've decided to contact BlueHost's customer service and ask about it. According to them, the domain already expired and there will be no way to transfer the domain. To get the domain back, I'll have to either (1) wait for anotehr 37 days until it expires and register the domain again, but this option does not guarantee me that I would be able to get the domain back because there will be possibilities that other people wants to take te domain as well; (2) I'll have to pay $80 to get the domain back - $10 for the renewal of the domain and another $70 for retrieving the domain because it expired, but this option will assure me that I shall get the domain back.

To be honest, I don't wanna spend that much for KH anymore. Taking aside the fact that I'm already broke, I had spent too much already and I'm already tired. I've been together with KH for that long and its really dying this time and nobody is helping it up. Instead, people are leaving one after the other. I did my best and tried reviving it again and again but my efforts are always futile. This time, I'll have to give it up. Kiatsu wont be here to help me bring it back together anyway.

For the mean time, I'll probably use http://kh.beyondeternal.com for the moment and mirror Kawaii Heaven's paid hosting there. But after that, I'm not sure if I would want to re-register the domain itself. Eventually, I'll have to decide if I would still buy the domain after the 37 day reservation is done. So, I'm kinda in that dilemma right now.

Opinions are very much appreciated.

Kawaii Heavens is Not Dead!

At least, not yet.

As you know, Kawaii tenshi-tachi, KH is currently down. The domain is being transferred to a new domain host, atm. Please wait for the domain transfer to get done and it will be back up. It usually takes a 24-48 hours for the domain to transfer and another 24-48 hours for it to entirely propagate the Internet.

We are transferring KH's domain to my domain host. It's usually Kiastu who pays for the domain, but since Kiatsu officially left KH and is under indefinite hiatus and no one knows exactly when she'll be coming back, the domain and hosting fees now falls under me. For me to be able to pay for the domain and hosting with ease, I need to transfer it to my account.

While I'm at this, I would like to thank the following for helping us greatly with hosting our files:
  • ShinigamiWeb.com
  • Soylations.de
  • Visual-novels.net

I'm Still Alive

Yesh, I'm still alive. I just got so busy with work and stuff so haven't been updating. Anyway, I've updated about 4 member's links and I shall add one member later tonight, when I get home.

Oh, and I've been noticing, there has been an increase of different J-rock blog crews these days. And they're not even just J-rock related blog crews, they're J-rock blog crews themselves - like this one. Honestly, I'm not a bit offended about it. I'm actually happy that people are starting to notice the J-rock scene more now than ever before. This is probably all thanks to huge artists like Yoshiki, Gackt, Miyavi, Sugizo, X Japan, Dir en Grey, Moi Dix Mois, the GazettE, D'espairsRay and many other bands. If you wanna join them, please feel free to! Let's all support the J-rock scene will a heart full of love!

Update and Proper Typeset

誕生日おめでとうございます!I hope you had and will have another great year!

After such a long time, I've finally updated something. It's been a while, ne? This update, I've added 5 new members, deleted 2 dead sites and updated 2 member's links. That's quite a bit, since I haven't updated for quite a while.

Also, I would like to apologize to Kabuki because I accidentally deleted her Aoi (the GazettE) icon when I last updated. And while at this topic, I would like to thank Sagami for noticing it.

And lastly, I would like to inform everyone that I've also fixed the proper typeset of some of bands names like the old "The Gazette" which was supposed to be typed as "the GazettE." I just noticed this when I added hide's icon, of which was taken by Hana this time. I was always very particular with the lowecase typeset of hide's name since I am an X Japan fan first more than any band. This made me think and thought that I should always follow the proper typesetting of each bands name and thus, this change.

I think that's about everything!
